Special Subjects

The Art Department course curriculum is organized in a two-year rotation.  Each time a student takes a course, individual projects and areas emphasized will vary.  The Art Department is proud to offer courses to meet every student's interest and ability. Courses include general courses such as Studio Art and Visual Art as well as specialized courses like Ceramics, Sculpture, and Digital Arts. 

Students are required to take two years of Health and Physical Education.  

Physical Education activities will focus on fitness, sports games, lifetime activities, testing, and active games of low organization.  Health topics will provide the students with

information to assist the development of holistic lifestyle through appropriate behavior choices and responsible decision-making.

The UDHS Library supports our diverse school community by empowering students with future skills in communication, innovation, critical thinking, citizenship, and literacy. We maintain a welcoming, vibrant space that inspires reading, lifelong-learning, creativity, and cultural expression. In providing access to relevant texts in a variety of genres, as well as digital resources, our Library serves The Upper Darby School District mission of Opportunity, Unity, and Excellence.

UDHS students and staff can access the Library’s catalog and resources on the Classlink platform with their District Google credentials.

The High School offers a broad array of choral and instrumental performance based courses in addition to Piano Keyboard/Theory. Music students are given countless opportunities to perform with major cultural institutions within the area. Our marching band, indoor guard and drum line , which are extra-curricular, compete in regional and national festivals. Auditioned choral groups travel yearly to participate in adjudicated performances. All of the music performances allow students to serve the community, and to expand their horizons as maturing young people.
